SSC Farul Constanta has been founded in 2016 by the fans of the famous Farul Constanta team which went into bankruptcy and dissolved few years back. SSC (Supporter Spirit Club) is currently competing starting with this season, in Liga 2 after two consecutive promotions. The home ground of SSC is the legendary Farul Stadium (15.500 seats) from Constanta. Some very important matches took place on this stadium, including Romania’s National Team qualifying campaigns for World Cup and Euro.
Unfortunately the Farul stadium did not get a license for Liga 2, therefore the team needs to play its home matches on a different venue. Liga 2 has just started and Farul played its first game close to Constanta, in Ovidiu, on Hagi’s home ground team, FC Viitorul. Hagi himself played for Farul in his youth career and he invited supporter’s club to play their first match in Ovidiu, for free. Farul won 4-1 the match against former Liga1 team, ACS Poli Timisoara. All 4 goals for SSC have been scored by Alexandru Grigoras, the son of Petre Grigoras, the former manager of the team.
Now, SSC needs to find a new home ground and one of the options in to play in Balchik, city in Bulgaria which is about 115 km away from Constanta: “We have a list with a few stadiums where we could play our next matches. One of the options is Balchik, in Bulgaria.” – SSC Farul Constanta official
Balchik Stadium has a capacity of 3200 seats and is the home ground of FC Chernomorets Balchik, team playing in the second Bulgarian tier.
